Sign-In
During this part of the session the Corps Members work with their child on writing their name as well as talking with the child about their day.

Circle Time
Circle Time is a time to sing songs, share stories, read books, discuss the days activities, do charts, and also another time for communication between Corps Members and children. It can last anywhere from 10-30 minutes. circle time fun

One-to-One Reading
This is the time when Corps Members and their child find a special spot to sit and read books using the dialogic reading method. It can last from 10-30 minutes as well.

Choice Time
Choice time is the largest part of a Jumpstart session usually lasting anywhere from 45-90 minutes. It allows the children to make choices and to use their language in a variety of ways as well as being social with the other children/adults in the session. There are usually writing centers, dramatic play areas, block areas, and a small group activity planned by the Jumpstart Team. The small group activity is based on one of the School Success Outcomes listed above.
